Rodin-Inspired Portraits
Overview
The main theme for this project is a common passion for capturing movement. Auguste Rodin (French Sculptor, 1840-1917) was known for creating sculptures that suggest a sense of movement, especially in his later works as his models were primarily dancers and acrobats. There is also a large focus on hands and emotion.
I incorporate Rodin’s passion and augment it with my own approach to lighting and capturing movement by including fabrics. Think of them as gentle covers over the sculptures/dancers the night before the exhibit opens to the public.
I am incredibly grateful to all the amazingly talented and kind dancers who have collaborated with me to fulfill my vision for this project.
